Hi, i'm new to this forum, so firstly i thank you all for viewing this topic and thank you in advance for any replies i may receive.
Ok, Around 3 weeks ago i replaced the rear drums,shoes & wheel bearings, on my 1995 N reg escort 1.4. The problem is that there is a noise coming from the passenger rear side, sort of a D D D D D,(as if something is stuck) only when braking. I stripped them off today and cleaned all parts and adjusted the brake adjuster to "slack". I put it all back together and still their is a noise when braking. I did have trouble with this side trying to put the drum back on as if the bearings were too tight on the shaft, but these go on no problem now. The drum does feel tight, when turn it by hand. I have now just noticed that the shocker is leaking, would this contribute to the D D D D D noise?

 

Could be the shocker or the back plate catching the drum.

If it is catching the back plate, should i slacken off the hub nut slightly or try to straighten the plate?

 

Got it sorted!!!!
The shoe that holds the handbrake cable had jammed and wouldn't move either way. Un freed the lever, works fine and dandy now!!
