Default Sticky actuator/wastegate?

This is happening occasionally on my saff, but don't know which is causing which if you know what i mean! Wastegate is sticking open slightly so no,or very little boost, usually happens going 3rd-4th. If i tap wategate lightly it snaps shut again so looks like actuator spring is ok. What would cause the wastegate to stick? The turbo has only done about 10k since it was recond'. Any ideas?

yep mine is foooked.

Gets stuck shut every few days. Need to get a can of wd40 and a hammer on it

I think mine went a tad pete tong after I gave the engine bay a steam clean and the turbo hadn't cooled down fully. water got in and made it rust

but now the turbo is pretty much dead after I didn't realise it had got stuck and hit over 30psi on a T25.

The wastegate penny has come loose and needs to be tightened on the rivet.

Cheers Stu,
This means a job of either exhaust off or turbo off, bugger. Daft question, would running without a dump valve contribute to this problem? (Running 1 bar).

Can be done in situ.. but tricky.

Dump valve will have had ZERO effect on it.
