got a new wing mirror for my escort as it broke and when i was dismantling the new one to paint it, i noticed it has electrical wires connected to the backing plate of the glass, are they heated then? and if they are is there a switch or something? its an 88 spec car F reg.

 

Yes their heated,the element heats up when you switch on youre heated windscreen.All the best,Micky

 

but thats the thing i dont have a heated front screen! and they both have electical connectors on both sides as ive checked!

Get a heated screen loom mate, be much easier. Its a slag to get the wires up the A pillars though.
