Default loan info

never had a loan so not sure what to do etc. I got my car up for sale,i need a new one before i sell mine to get me to work and back (i am doing summer work at the moment bringing in about £250 a week up until the start of september as i am at college) I seen a car for 2k and i got about 600cash on me.Will be getting a fair bit more over the next few weeks while working. So need a loan or something for about £1500/£1400. Is there somewhere that i can get a loan and pay it all back,like pay the min amount a month and over if i can,so if i sell my car i can repay it all in one go like. As some you got a fixed amount per month over a few years and i don't want that so any ideas. i am with hsbc and seen a feliloan but not to sure what that means ,thanks

As everyone will say - don't get into debt if can avoid it, but if you must here is some of the info i have learn't over the years;

You can request a settlement statement and pay most bank loans back as soon as you like - but just watch for charges and always take the time to read the small print. Most loans are loaded with interest so you pay the majority of interest up front and don't start paying majority of the actual borrowed sum of the loan off until further into the repayments.

Best bet is to speak to your bank about exactly what you require, but do get other quotes as they are giving credit away nowadays and you can get some good deals; lenders i have had good dealings with are Northern Rock and Tescos (Royal Bank of Scotland). HTH
