Default 2wd and 4x4 conrods the same

are 2wd and 4x4 cosworth conrods the same got a 2wd and and building the engine and got chance of a mint set of brand new 4x4 conrods are they the same

From reading the Sapphire cosworth 4*4 buyers guide in rallye news this mouth i would say NO as its not one of the engine componets they mention as being modifyed by ford/cosworth when they redesigned the engines for more stenght for use in the 4*4 sapphs.

They changed/redesigned 80% of the engine from how it was in the 2wd for use in the 4wd.

So i would say there the same but im no expert or tuner.

not to my knowledge no.

differences off the top of my head in the bottom end would be;

pistons
flywheel
block obviously
oil pump and pick up
sump
