Right, I brought my S2 about a year and a half ago just to trash round in and go to work etc. It's been great fun, recently I have moved out and brought something economical for work so the S2 has just been sitting in a garage for about 3/4 months.
Body work wise on the outside it is tidy with straight panels and generally looks good for a D plater S2. The engine bay is very good, even got it's orignal battery tray perfect and intact. Roof is good, with no rust poping though on the roof, the engine runs perfectly and all is ok, even the boot looks good......here where it all goes a little pear shaped
I got it out today to check it out for an MOT so I can sell it, the problem is on looking at it I found it needs plates on both chassis rails where water sits, both side rear sills, and a small coin sized patch on the passenger side foot well. Totally unbelievable as looking at the condition above the floor, the car looks good and is generally in good shape
The problem is to patch the floor up is probably going to cost about £400, then it needs a new front tire, and it will probably fail on a few things, so lets say £600 total to get it through an MOT, and then realistically it is only gonna sell for about £1400 which leaves me wondering whether it is worth it. I can't break it as I am in the middle of moving to a new house at the moment.
So peeps think? Apart from 'take a jack' next time you go to look at a car particularly cars with a Ford badge
