Cos I can. I drive hard and I need a car that will keep up.

What I dont get is the people who own performance cars but DONT drive them hard ALL the time. You might as well have a 1.1 Fiesta.

Don't drive mine hard through built up areas etc..

Cos I like my car, don't really give a flying **** what anyone else thinks, it's my equivalent of 20 B&H and getting ratted at the weekend

I want one because I can pull up at the local spar/londis/one-stop [delete as appropriate] and try and pull 16 year olds with perky little handwarmers.

You know what I mean.

But there are people who just own the cars for the status, not what the car can do. I pass many performance stuff on the way to work in the morning. All steadfastly doing 70-80 in the middle lane.

Poofs!

I just like to know I'm quicker than the next guy. I like wiping the smiles off peoples faces in so called prestigeous cars.

I also find the quicker my car gets the less I feel the need to prove it. For me driving a faster standard car wouldn't give me the same feeling as the car I currently have, which is why I have no intentions of parting with it

Wouldn't really class my S1 as a "fast car" with only about 175bhp, but it's certainly quick. Main reason I bought her was cos I get a rush when it comes on boost. I enjoy the acceleration, and the feeling you get overtaking and shutting other cars down. I actually didn't buy it to show off or try and look good, but that does come into it a little bit - anyone who says 100% they didn't buy it to attract attention is a liar.

I jsut like the feeling of loading it up in 2nd and third and surprising other machinery on the road Even on an empty road I get a lil rush when ya pulling 4-6k rpm at full chat in 3rd/4th gear Then I lift off, hit the brakes, then do it all over again

I own both a standard S2 and a RS1600i, so I can't really answer that question

Cos they look cool, is probably my excuse!

Because you can embarrass BMW owners in the right hand lane of the motorway and on the sliproads

Nothing pleases me more than owning a BMW in a Ł5k car. The looks on their faces is always priceless.

Obviously this doesnt apply to the M series which are quicker than mine, but the ordinary ones. I swear every BMW driver reckons they have a supercar even when it's a crappy 1.6
