Default E-Bay nightmares (post yours)

We all know E-Bay is a blinder for getting deals on but the missus and I suffered a bit of a bummer when we sold a rabbit hutch.

I posted the dimensions of the hutch and the run. and included a clear photo. The woman that won the item wasn't too far away so to save agro we agreed to deliver it. We drove to her place and unloaded the hutch and gave her the panels for the run and all the fixing screws. After showing her the hutch and run and how to assemble it we made sure she was happy with it. She said it was fine and gave us the money for it (£40).

Halfway home the mobile rings and the woman was moaning that the hutch was too small and we'd mislead her.

I won the auction for one of those new Cosworth books that tells the story of all ford Cosworth Sierras. Posted off the postal orders then went offshore, after my 4 week trip I returned home to expect a nice book for me to read, but nothing not even a letter. I quickly went onto e-bay and realised that it had been more than 30 days and I have not been able to contact the person about it because I have now got no details of who I sent it to! Apart from that I have had a good few people remove the item from Auction while I was the highest bid, as I am sure alot of the other guys have as well!

i've ordered stuff from ebay and it hasnt turned up etc.... does me head in but no real nightmares. other than my ex selling my puma stereo surround thing (u know when u replace the standard block sized stereo for a normal sized one that little bit u buy to fill in the gap) well he went ahead and put it on ebay without asking me... so i bidded on it, won it, gave him disgusting feedback then logged into his and gave myself a shining feedback

other than that had no probs with ebay at all

I sell a fair bit on ebay, a lot of comics [mispent youth] which buyers are particularly fussy over condition.

Only problem I had was selling a 7 inch Widescreen incar tft monitor. Nifty bit of kit bloke bought it the whinged that there was no TV tuner and he specifically wanted one for a portable tv.

My reply - which should be the same for the rabbit hutch - is that they bought an item exactly as described in the auction and it's tough sh!t if it doesn't fit the purpose that they expected it for because they have 7 days - or whatever - to ask any questions. And besides, as a private seller you're not subject to ANY rules and regulations with regards to trading standards etc.

So tell her to jog on and do one.

I sold what I described as a 'roof tip spoiler' on there. Some guy bought it and then complained because he thought it went on the boot!
I told him to stop being a prick.
Another time I sold some fog lights to a tight arse scottish prick, the postage was dearer than I told him- which I paid and when the postman could n't find his house he complained to Ebay
I offered him a 10pence refund.

I bought an escos intercooler with charge cooler.

when it turned up it was from a small turbo escos and some muppet had welded an empty box onto the end to make it look like a charge cooler.

had the pipes etc too!!

complete waste of time.
