Just got a call from Ian Howell.

Sid's ZVH running 18psi done a 13.6@114mph

Ollie's S1 done a 14.4 @ 105mph

and Keiths Cossie done a 14.5 @ 100mph

Lastly not RST but Andy Nichol (Maestro) done a 12.4 @ 122mph yesterday.

just to cheer you all up andys gone faster in the rover 200 now than the maestro did last night!
12.1s 128mph for the rover MG200
12.3s 127mph for the maestro.

way too hot , he's hoping to beat the times tonight if it cools.

the little red rover ran 8.1s @ 98mph at the 1/8th of a mile with a crap 2.2s 60ft time! mad!

sorry for the thread hijack but i think people will appreciate the speeds! andy had the highest terminal speed for all the cars upto when i left today!

 

What gearbox is in that 200?? At TOTB it sounded like he had one long 1st gear, or was he launchin in 2nd?? Awesome times for fwd.

 

how does he get the grip? what diff - are they drag tyres?

Friday my mate text me- he ran 3x 13.8s in his carb+turbo xr2, all terminals around 102mph

Not bad for a total home build!

His 4x4 cossie fiesta monsters nearly done too

 

Erm, lots of power, lots of torque, and lots of skill Both of Andy's car's would be low to mid 11 car's if true slicks were fitted... AFAIK he runs road legal drag radials for all his runs, no cheating that way

hes on dot marked road legal treaded tyres, good uns on the maestro and average ones on the 200!

he put a new box and clutch on the maestro midweek as he smashed the other tup at totb!
and if full slicks were tried it may run low 11s, or it might actually smash something straight off with the grip due to the torque! lol

 

just heard the red rover 200 is now at 12.07s 119mph!

Fookin quality car Knowing him he did all them runs with full interior and a car full of tools and trolley jacks like usual, lol

Me and sid just got back and we had our first runs sat morning,he got his 13.7 @ 114 which fookin shocked me to say the least,and thats on low boost(18psi..270bhp) till he sorts the shat intercooler

My best on sat was 14.2 @ 102 due to very poor starts and a fooked gearbox which wouldn't let me change fast at high rpm! it was far too hot too my ACT gauge was showing 60 degrees before i went up the track! Also my car was very laggy because it was taking so long to change gear all the boost went out the dump valve.....not good

Today was better tho i took my dump valve off and tried abit harder to launch it and managed a 13.6 @ 105
Me and the Tibster ran head to head and the pair of us did a fookin massive burnout next to each other which looked awesome Tib's car fookin launches hard but when he got into 3rd he hit some oil or sumat cause he just snaked it up the strip....lol still got a 12.5 @ 115

Not bad really for first time on the strip in nearly 3 years.

mY RUNS WERE MINT lol...

could not get into any gears LOL and 70+ ACT on line don't help....and the fact it spins the whole fucking strip....last time i try...LOL 2runs then decided it was a waste of time.

Marco, sunny aint king of the pod as far as i know he aint ever run it, and it aint like TOTB or brunters as you know, he car is fast tho...

i just spoke to andy nicholls, 5th year he has wont it on the trot!

maestro- fastest was 12.02s 120mph, and he had to lift off at the top end as it overboosted and hit the cut out, but his best terminal run was a 12.2s @ 130mph!
1/8th mile in 7.9s @ 104mph!

i have an old timing slip for andy when he raced the norris evo at last years god of the pod, and the evo ran the 1/8th at 7.6s 106mph! not bad comparison for a fwd car!
