im pretty sure only large turbo models were for motorsport, and the small turbo one was classed as a gt car, it could be a motorsport shell with small escos running gear fitted as u could still get the shells from ford, has it got a sunroof as a motorsport car wouldnt have one like the monte

sure someone will correct me if im wrong

cheers kev

MONTE's DO have sunroofs mate, Montes are LUX spec minus non option leather.....

A 1996 registered motorsport shell will be either

A shell bought from Ford then built up from bits, OR, A proper 1996 lux car, which has been reshelled into a new M/sport shell, see what electrics its got and if it got opening r/quarters.... you could give Ford the VIN, they willl tell you what it stearted as...

either way 10k aint too discraceful...

Why would it ba a 'small turbo/ motorsport edition in Aurilis blue'?
Something weird there mate.
If it is a 1996 Aurilis blue one then fine, but unless it's a motorsport shell- which were white someone has put into it EEC4 and small turbo running gear and painted it blue in & out thats a little strange.
Genuine Escort cossy maybe the motorsport bit is bollocks

no matter how you paint the picture if this car there is somethings not quite right,at the end of the day a 40k mile 97 P reg Escort Cossie is a gift at Ł10500,ask yourself the question why is it cheap,
you have had untold replies regarding the different specs of these cars so the answers are there, save your money and buy a proper car not a things which the history dont add up,as it may seem cheap at the time becauase you are deaperate to own one just think when you come to sell it and prespective buyers are asking the same questions
if you want a real car call me i will do you a deal on mine you just cant refuse

the guy had no idea - said it was a small turbo but it was a t34....ok u know ur stuff mate lol

he said it was a motorsport - yet it had, sunroof, rear opening quarters, electric windows etc....

vin number - sab********* clearly not right...

turbo looked to sit weird in the engine bay,not like my mates esc cos...

took it for a drive anyway...pretty sharp...as u would expect...altho the gearbox was absolutely wrecked...u couldnt get it into first....

HEAP OF DUNG.....
