after all the greif,
4 engines later................
rebuilt bottom end went in with everything Lightened and balanced/knife edged etc.
standard head gasket, cometic every other gasket (to see what the problem was......... cometic head gasket MAY have been at fault!)
flat cylnder head, standard cams, non- solid tappets (
) , 5psi MAX boost (
)
drove the cossie around tonight, washed her as she was COVERED in bird shyte,
i can gladly say i`m IN LOVE again, cossie rule and even people in other cars pointing and staring makes me smile!
car still runs the T4/wastegate as its totally fabricated from the head right upto the standard ford backbox (for standard looks lol) and it sounds the absolute dogs fookin bollox!!!
long may my cossie burn the back bumper with flames!!!!!!!

Pleased to hear you're back in action again.I've had similar shit for about a year and a half now.Done my brains in on cash,had 2 rebuilds but just returned from mapping by Stu and Kenny and it all feels worth it again.I'm up in the North East so hope to have a chat sometime.

Incidently we have just removed a Cometic off my Dad's car and fitted a WRC Mountune gasket insted....that was blowing on No 1 cylinder.

i have had a look at a mates car as hers has just had a cometic gasket and ported head fitted, water system presurising up!
i`d stay WELL clear of cometic gaskets IMO, all other gaskets they produce (except headgasket) ar A1 though.
Sean.

Glad you've got it up and running again mate, pity it takes quite a few failure before we find out about faulty gaskets/parts in general.
Perhaps we should have a post somewhere with all the crap parts on so newbies and people who've missed threads like this and tiffs/daz's can find out before they fit or buy known wank bits
