Hi Alex,

Amparo Blue is a medium colour, verging on to the darker side of the Ford blues available, so it's best to stick to products that are best for these.

For your polish, you can stick with the AG SRP, as that'll be fine, or try Clearkote VMG if you want something with slightly more cut.

To richen the colour, next you would apply a glaze, where Clearkote RMG is easily the best out of what i've tried.

That needs to be sealed, Poorboy's EX-P will work best on your colour.

Then a finishing wax of your choice; Poorboy's Natty's blue or P21s Concours wax would be fine; i'd personally probably go for the Natty's on your colour.

Clay the car before you start for the best results.

Use Meg's Quik Clay, as it's an excellent all round product. The three stage system is okay, but it's more of a beginners thing - you can achieve better results by using better individual products; the third stage (the wax) in particular, is poor compared to what else is available.

Depending on how soon you need them, i may be able to supply some of those products soon. The Meg's you can get from a decent Meg's supplier, and the others you can find on the net

thankyou very much for your help! another question (sorry about them all) is that at what intervals should i use these products, i use the car daily and so ovbiously the finish will not last as long as a car used purely for shows. is it worth doing every time i clean the car? obviously this can depend on the available time i have to do the job too!

also what are the best applicators for the glaze, sealer and wax?

thanks for all your help

The questions are fine mate, don't mind a bit Using the car daily does mean that the products will wear off faster, but it's nothing too drastic as long as you wash the car properly.

Make sure you do everything spot on first time round, and get the car exactly as you want it - clay/polish/glaze/seal/wax. So make sure you're free all day and the weather's going to be okay.

Once you're happy with it, it's quicker from then on. Wash the car weekly, with a washmitt and drying towel (no sponges or chammys or you'll ruin the finish!) and this will keep the paint in a decent condition, and stop the paintwork from having contaminants from sitting on it eating into the finish for any length of time. Then every other week, you could apply another coat of the finishing wax after the wash - again this isn't much hassle as this is quite a quick stage.

Every 4-6 weeks, or more regularly if you think it needs it (this depends on mileage, what the weather's been like etc) then do the glaze/sealant/wax stages. Again, once you get used to it, it shouldn't take long. If you've got the time, redo the polish too. If not, every 6-8 weeks, also do the polishing stage. You don't need to use an actual polish everytime, if the paint looks okay and you just want to improve and cleanse the finish, you should use a paint cleanser instead, as these have no cut.

Every 3 months (or as required - feel the paint with your hand in a sandwich bag, and it should feel like glass) redo the clay stage, followed by all the other stages. Once you're used to it, it won't take as long as you might think

Best applicators are foam Clearkote ones for the glaze and sealant, and the Meg's gold class ones for the wax.
