morning
i gonna get cracking removing the loom from my s2 to put the engine into my cabby. now ive removed and replaced a few 3i engines before, so im ok swapping the engines etc, the bit im gonna struggle with if at all is the loom, and fuel system. the cab is currently a mfi xr3i.
where do i remove the loom? do i cut it behind the dash and swap the fusebox etc into the cab, just joining the wires again behind dash? is it that simple?
can i keep the tank/fuel lines from my cab?
dre

ok you need to remove the complete loom from the rs and use the complete loom
its exactly the same
all you will need of the caby loom is the heated rear window loom 1 wire and pin sitch loom 1 wire
bascially them 2 just plug into wher eth erear tailgate loom would join a hatch in the rear quarter
you can use the fuel tank and lines from the cabby just change the pump, but you will have to drop the tank to get the wires out, or you could just cut them behind the seat and rejoin them up to the rs loom
on the wires that go up the pillar for the light and clock, i usually cut and rejoin into the new loom as its easier than trying to feed wires up there

thats the eaisest way mate, what yu got to think is theres a lot of wires you have to cut and solde rthe way you want to do it
i can have a rst loom in 10mins there that easy
everything falls into place where it should

bit to far away else i would help you out mate
but honestly its so simple basically just pull the loom from the vack of the car up to drivers foot well
pull the top half of the fuse box out then 3 screws underneath and pull the loom out
fitting is reverse
honestly so simple

on your own you could struggle, it took 6 of us to do a conversion like that a few years ago in a weekend and we had probs aswell
problem is you have to give yourself time and not rush it as something could go wrong when taking the cabby apart
id give yourself a week or 2 just be on the safe side

a couple of you should do it in a weekend, if you have everything its easy, you can chop the loom in, if i remember right you have a few earths and about 3 lives to connect, better of swapping whole loom though, good luck
