Nice to speak to a few people again down there on wednesday. I was following COSSIENUTS & RACEY home giving it a bit of large in my 4x4 Saffy, (BTW both your cars are running sweet) when all of a sudden, TAP! TAP! TAP! TAP! with a slight missfire!
OH MY GOD!
PANIC!
I pulled into the Esso garage at Raleigh Weir fearing the worst, it sounded horrible and was deffinatly coming from the top end. I'm hoping i have knackered a tappet which, i'm PRAYING would cause a slight miss. So i've got some new tappets on order, i was just wondering what you guys thought?

Had the same thing, was have a little play up and down when got the funny tapping sound, spoke to dave & nick at PF and they thought it was a lifter, toldthem this was a car that manages to fix itself tried a bit later still the same thing, tried about 30mins later running sweet as a nut
Still think I need some anti pump lifters for it though
hope it's nothing too serious.
Did you not go in the end Gus

i got a urgent phone call from a mate saying that he was getting the beers, so i had to leave.
That's understandable. I still can't believe how many you got through at TOTB. every time we went to the car more & more beer come out. Big respect

Thanks for the replies guys,
Lee, did your car have a very slight miss when it started ticking? Mine did but it was nowhere near as bad as if i pulled a plug lead off for example. Thats why i'm pretty sure it's one of the valves not opening properly. I'm hoping it's nothing else as all the normal signs of big damage are not apparent i.e smoke out the back or froth in the header tank e.t.c
Cheers,
Dave
