Went to Croft today for a full day on track in our 205 Mi16 track car and it was fookin mint !! The car never skipped a beat all day even when I had it broadside out of 'Barcroft' when I clipped the kerb after it had drissled slightly
brakes held out well and the car is just planted round every corner and so stiff with it being so low and with the welded in cage
Just need a little more power for some of the straights then it'll be perfect.
PS: Who said Toyo R888's would last 4 trackdays, brand spanking new ones and they'll be lucky to last 2
maybe we're just too aggresive into the corners, pmsl
Roll on the next one and I'm off to have my Indian, a bath and am ganin to bed cause i'm fooked!!

very true mate, I drive my escos and the M3 like a big jessie but was gunning round the track like a wild man, caught and overtook cars too, lol......a fookin R33 gtr and a westfield !! (mind you, they couldn't drive for shit like
)
Definately the best fun i've had in a car for ages, including my trip to the ring!!
But i've gotta admit that Claire was tidier around the corners than me but I blame that on her having a racing licence and having had tuition rather than just being stupid like me
Cheers Tiff for your advice etc along the way, I owe you a pint and if your going to stanford hall RSOC show next week we'll have a bit crack
205's ROCK!!!

the escort would be awesome on track mate, I've raced bikes up hartside pass and lashed them round the country lanes etc but i'd be too worried about stuffing the escos on track tbh whereas the 205 you can kick its head in and if you stuff it, you bid on a non runner on fleabay and reshell it, job done

Got to love 205 Mi16s
Oh yeah, my R888s have done 500 or so track miles (plus some road use) and are still looking VERY healthy! Cracking tyres for the money

)Midlife crisis car if ever I saw one

My mate did a day there yesterday in his Elan, I drove two sessions in it, and it was the most fun I've had in ages!
Because it wasnt my car and it was wet, I was taking it easier and haveing a whale of a time, just enjoying the car and the way it handles rather than trying to hose everyone as is the norm in my cossie.
Elans are lovely cars - the pedals are just right for heel-and-toe, something I've done for ages in my mondeo, but never been able to crack in the cossie... The complex is MUCH easier and smoother to get right than trying to do it with one pedal per foot!!
Best FWD car I've driven I think!!
Neil.

Yep, the Durham / Derbyshire show should be great, we always seem to attract a lot of people even though it is north of Manchester (Sorry, just a joke
Croft is a great circuit, like someones already said on here you need balls of steel to take the esses flat out (I know I don't have balls but you catch my drift) and the complex can be quite tricky. Oh and I've heard that it can get quite messy if you clip the apex going through barcroft when it's just been raining, isn't that right Scott??
