So come on give us the story with the cossie top:
Where abouts in wales did you get it from if you dont mind me asking??
After a Request from a number of people i have decided to tell the story behind my cossy, so here goes:
In 1990 my dad bought the cossy, then it was brand new, he loved it, although my mum was not too keen. I went everywhere with my dad in his cossy. In Feb 1991 my dad had a really bad accident, smashing all four corners. As a result of an investigation, it turned out that when he had new tyres put on they had put the directional tyres on the wrong way, and as it was raining he crashed on a bend. I never saw the car again after that.
A year later it was finally rebuilt (reshelled).
My dad sold it straight away to a post master not far from where we lived.
I have always known the car was not too far away, but having moved away, I started to forget about it.
Until 2003 when my dad sadly died. My dad was my best friend, the only person i could remember when i was little, i supose that was because i spent a lot of time with him.
Having told my Boyfriend about the car, and all the other cars my dad had owned, i was starting to think about seeing it again, to see what/if i could remember anything about the car and my dad.
When one of your parents dies you tend to search for that missing piece, mine was my dads cosworth.
I finally managed to trace the car, still only 5 mins from my mums in wales.
After taking it over with John (BF) and my mum, we decided to go and see it, it was the first time my mum had seen it since 1991, and it being my dads it was sentimental to me too.
Whilst looking at it i realised i could remember things, like the radio, and the dots on the door cards. Silly but at least it was something.
Having got talking to the guy who owns it, he asked if i wanted to buy it, and to my supprise, i said YES.
I didnt even ask how much.
6 Months later........................
My dads pride and joy, is now mine.
And what a good choice it was too.

Welcome to PF - what a story behind getting the car!
Sorry to hear about your dad, unfortunately my dad passed away when i was only six, but i'm hoping one day to get back the classic MG B that he'd spent most of his life restoring.
At least it's back in the family now
