Default rs turbo and xr2 engine

is the xr2 cvh engine the same as the rs turbo cvh engine? if not what are the differences.

no xr2 engine is going to be the same as any turbocharged engine. for a start the pistons are different. and if you mean like a mk2 xr2 cvh then there is also no hole for the crankshaft sensor pick up for the flywheel. a xr2i engine block will be similar but the internals are all slightly off and wont suit turbocharging period. probably fine if you just want the block though ( a xr2i i mean) but dont hold me to that

Heard the heads are the same, i do mean xr2i heads, prob wrong tho

Just tell us which XR2 (or XR2i) you mean and which RSTurbo CVH...

thats what i want to know, is the xr2 and 2i cvh the same? and the same as any rs turbo engine? i want an engine to build over the summer and i wondered if i could use any cvh 1.6 engine as a base?

XR2 block = ERST S1 and S2 block except from pistons and oil feed for the Turbo
XR2 head = ERST S1 and S2 except from height, outlet valves and inlet/outlet ports
XR2i block = FRST block with CPS hole except from pistons and oil feed
XR2i head = FRST head, just check for same height
