Default Funny running?

In the mornings my saphh cossie struggles to stay running? It starts fine runs for a few seconds, struggles then cuts out. Start it up again and the same happpens. If you give it a few revs or set of driving it's a little lumpy until you've done a few mile.

Seen as i kept it garage over the winter ( I did start it up though twice a month and let it run to temp) i thought it may be dirty spark plugs?

Any thoughts on the subject ? any help?

Cheers
Darren

sounds like al old cars mate...

keep it idleing for a couple of mins before driving and it will be fine.

you could adjust the idle a bit higher too

My mk4 does the same.. I worry about it stopping at junctions lol so have to keep the choke out halfway for the first couple of mins or keep revving to keep it going. Usually sorts itself out within 5 mins of driving

Could just be the plugs, im sure the c57c`s are lumpy on start up, altho im not sure what you have, also the 071`s if not gapped correctly can be bad for it, get it in for a set up and im sure iy should get sorted

Sounds like the idle control valve, I had this problem on mine, I found that the idle speed screw was wound in too far. You may find that the plug on top of the valve has corroded a bit causing it to malfunction.

I find there is an art to keeping them ticking over. I took mine to have new tyres fitted today and it kept cutting out on the fitter guy....tut tut. Not experienced in the ways of the old ford...
