i picked up a RS2k 4x4 last weekend,

power steerings gone on it,
CV joint buggered, making a hell clicking sound

and engine really tappety,

just in at local garage now, they said tappets have gone and they're hydraulic so equal big money

power steering rack £250 inc fitting

not even bothered quoting me on the CV joint as its just ending up too much money

what can i do, i cant afford all this, any way for me to get the costs down

its mint apart from these things n i dont really want to get rid of it

Afaik you can't get rs2000 tappets from ford any longer, PAS rack is probably about the right price and CV joints arn't hugely expensive. Not a white one is it?

 

Tappets are about £250 a set i think.

Thats about the right price for the rack too!

I take it you bought the car as a daily driver to keep the miles off the RST in your sig.

If the cars a good un why not bite the bullet and get the jobs done as the RS2K is a really good daily driver type car.

I find mine a lot better to drive than my RST TBH!

Why not get some reprofiled cams at the same time as tappets they're only about £180

 

you can't get tappets 4 the RS2K anymore but you can fit tappets from a Galaxy they got the same engine only its a 2.2lt so you'll have 2 replace all of them! ive just had 2 do mine
