Check your router logs...... have you got any encryption turned on?

i just clicked on the symbol at the bottom, and it locked Like a padlock. It states security enabled wireless network



but you hear that people still get on them

if you go into your router screen (normally by typing in the IP addy of your router (IE 192.168.0.1) there should be an option in there that says "attached devices") or something like that.

It sohuld show the computer names attached.

As per Simon, needs to be done on the router - even basic ones have something useful as regards attached devices.

I went to wireless clients, and it came up with just the one address, which I assume is mine did start with MAC tho

I have a BT one

cool! mac address is your computers unique network device ID if I remember right. nothing to worry about.

Very very rarely if your using WPA due to the encryption

I set my nieces new laptop up for her on Sunday, soon as i got it out of the box and charged it up it detected my Wireless Lan, i installed AOL software and it connected straightaway after i typed in the network key.

you can check your MAC address buy, click START, then RUN and type CMD

Then type ipconfig /all
