your car will prob need a tweak some where along the lines after fitting one cause it will have a rough idle

They are easy to fit mate i'am sure that it will not need setting up after you have fitted it. I got mine from a company could NOMAD RACING there number is 0115 9550474 and they are in Nottingham the man you need to talk to is Martin. I got a twin piston on of them and it sounds shit hot mate. HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU FELLA

aslong as its twin piston it shold be fine, otherwise get good at right foot throttle control you'll not need a set up but it could be worth 1 neways if its not been done for a while

Bailey twin piston is the one to go for if you must have one but I would recomend against it.

If it's your first turbo car though you will prob want one for the novelty factor, nowt wrong with that

Do you actually know what makes the "chatter" sound m8? I wouldnt wanna do it to my turbo anyway, prefer to try and prelong the life of the turbo than potentially shorten it by having a bit of gay "chatter".

It's the sound of the compressor blade stalling, in other words, what you hear is the sound of the turbo being forced to stop instead of being allowed to carry on spinning, put's unnecessary stress on the turbo.

I ran a dump valve on the general for a couple of years with no problems, then, after a setup it started chattering, so flogged the dump vale on e-bay for Ł75 I think

you will get some "chatter" on MFI but it is nothing compared to when running EFI.
some people will say "dont do it" and some will say "do it". its your car mate and your choice!

What is it in technial terms then ?

Most valve/s i have seen (95%) is open at idle which leads to air leaking out the side of the Valve.

Now you explain.
1) how that is not and air leak.
2) whats the technical term that we dont know of?

Dont worry Steve im sure you will be set straight soon.

So you'd recommend running a dump valve is safer for an S2? and will PREVENT problems lol?

Puts minimal extra strain on the turbo agreed but keeps pressure in the system. Running a DV upsets K-Jet and as said effectively gives you an airleak.

The flap is the reason yesyou cant usually hear chatter on MFI cars, somehow some people get them to do it though, although apparently not as loud as an EFI car for obvious reasons.

I think chatter is mainly heard on MFI cars when higher boost levels are run......
