I bought a genuine Ford one today from my local dealer and was suprised at the finish. It looks like its made of fibre glass and white on the inside and looks like its been blown over in mat black spray paint on the outside.
Is this right? I never really thought about it but persumed they where plastic/rubber
Do they need prep/painting before fitting?
I'm thinking I'd might aswell had bought the Fibre Glass copies for a lot cheaper

 

yep,thats how they are,just fit them as they are,dont ever bother with the copies, they are totally useless,dont fit,need tons of modifying and are usually slightly smaller as well,i made that mistake once,never again

I think I'll get them re-painted as they ain't perfect
Colour wise I'd say it was satin black? rather then matt or gloss

 

yeah satin, you can do it yourself with a decent aerosol from brown brothers or the like

 

 

get a grey scotchbrite while you are there, give it a key up with that (once the scotch been soaked in water)

get a aerosol plastic's adhesion promotor too

 

These are copies I painted them myself and I'm quite happy (@ 20Ł each...)

Why not for a GGR carbon parts???

Carbon's for gayer's like Rainbird and Franco but to be fair GGR isn't a patch on the Creative carbon finish the they have

 

I've splitter carbon from GGR and I fit it easily... and I'm not a gay
