Default Anyone need car Insurance?

Passion Ford Members Insurance scheme from Greenlight Insurance

Call 01277 650866 or visit https://www.greenlightinsurance.co.uk for a quote.

As most of you will already be aware, Greenlight have successfully piloted a Passion ford Insurance scheme in 2004, taken on board the comments of Passion ford members that have contacted us for a quotation or taken out policies with us during this time. Then used your feedback to improve both our infrastructure and that of your scheme.

The Passion Ford members scheme that we piloted last year has performed well, which has allowed us to expand the panel of underwriters for the Passion Ford scheme.

In practice, more underwriters equates to more competition and better premiums or terms for members.

Why choose Greenlight -What are greenlight able to offer?

1) We have a decent level of technical knowledge for performance, modified, custom & kit built vehicles

2) We offer Competitive premiums with further discounts for Passion ford members (this discount is available to all members - pilot scheme & existing clients automatically receive and continue to recieve the scheme discount)

3) We understand the vehicle enthusist mentality

4) We like to cover modified vehicle drivers, our view is very much that if you are spending money to improve your vehicle it demonstrates that you keep your vehicle in good order and clearly care for your vehicle.

5) You CAN disclose all modifications and we can accommodate anything up to and including full roll cages and nitrous oxide. - Agreed value available (1/1/2006 onwards)

6) Our underwriters offer ‘like for like’ replacement of modified parts for repairable instances and where possible, or an equivalent substitute part will be offered.

7) We are Performance vehicle specialists and as such look to cover performance models, as with modified vehicles we like the element of pride and care that goes with a performance vehicle – our premiums will reflect this.

Basic acceptance criteria

Due to our only covering performance or modified vehicles, the underwriters require all drivers to be aged 21+ with a full UK license for at least 12 months.

Postcode – if you feel your area may be high rated it may be better to contact us via the telephone, rather than using the online quote facility.

Greenlight & excluded postcode area’s
we recognised following our pilot of the Passion Ford Member scheme that there were postcode areas that we were unable to offer cover for under the single scheme. There will still be postcode areas that we can’t cover, but when sourcing further underwriters we have expanded the postcode areas that our underwriters are able to cover.

Historically underwriters have continued to write business and subsidised the poor performing areas by increasing premiums within the better performing areas to offset. These days, in the competitive market that exists and to maintain competitiveness underwriters choose to adopt a different stance. They have cut any subsidies to poor performing areas to concentrate upon and be more competitive in the area’s that have consistently perform well

To update
This post is to remind you all that we're here to help if you need Insurance for your car.

The Passion ford scheme is constantly being improved as a result of member comments, with the latest enhancements being made on 1st January 2006 with the Agreed value option for modified vehicles and bonus protection being available to drivers aged 22 or over (must have 5yrs NCB for protection).

We'd like to thank those of you that have taken cover with us to date, your business is very much appreciated and you've helped us to improve the scheme to better suit members needs.

The Passion Ford schemes are here to be used, they are competitive and offer a high level of relevant cover. So, those of you that haven't tried us to date give Greenlight Insurance a go. We'd love to hear from you.

Kind regards

Not bad at all thanks Tony ! Just looked through all my Emails and i did one back in Jan Was the same price back then!

How do things stand with things like wheels/suspension....

What are the major factors that bump up the premium? (Except from Engine modifications) Do they go on points or something like that? i.e 5 for suspension 10 for wheels etc etc. Just Curious that's all.

Can you offer a laid up/stored policy?

I have a modified fiesta in a private garage where it will be stored for the next year and just want it insured incase of fire or theft.

Hi Mate,

Modifications that impact upon the BHP/Torque of your vehicle are likely to increase your premium, as are items that are expensive to replace (ie. AP Racing brake systems, or 18" Alloys).

We can cater for pretty much any modification (inc nitrous) and we offer like for like replacement for all modified parts, thus a charge is usually made for replacing expensive items.

Most modified vehicles are individual in respect of their combination of modifications and we assess all vehicles on a bespoke basis.

By lowering your vehicle, or uprating your brakes you are clearly improving the handling of your vehicle and whilst we would always need to check with the respective underwriter, in most instances there would not be a charge for this type of modification.

Greenlight act as your broker at all times, we work for you and will do our uppermost to negotiate the best deal we can from the specialist underwriters that we deal with.

Hope this helps..

Tony

Sorry mate... we purely offer specialist vehicle (performance/modified/kit/4x4 off roader) Insurance.

Your best bet would probably be Tradewise, or Tradex who specialise in those types of policies.

Kind regards

Tony - would you be able to cover an E30 (old shape 3 series) BMW with a cosworth engine?

Obiovusly don't need the insurence for it yet, but will do come a few months time when the project is completed

Hi Graceland,

Due to the poor performance of E36 models, specifically M3's, we're not looking to attract a volume of BMW business and do not currently have a specific scheme to cater for BMW models.

However, there are 2 Underwriters that we deal with that are looking for an increase in modified vehicle business in general.. so we can try them for you.

If you get 5 mins, log onto www.greenlightinsurance.com/passion_ford.php
put your details online and we'll get back to you.

Kind regards

Tony

Hi Mac,

We have not offered that type of policy to date buddy, although we are talking to an Insurer about a sprint/race/rally car scheme and this will have the 'laid up' option.

The scheme is about 6 weeks off finalisation, but if you can hang on i'll happily try and arrange cover then.

Kind regards

Hi Rob,

We can cover both vehicles, but wouldnt be able to put a "run around" and a specialist vehicle under the same policy as these will be targeted by different underwriters.

If we could find a company to cover both you'd run the risk of having one set of NCB, which if you claimed under the policy would hike both cars premiums.

So, the best bet is to use the greater bonus for the performance vehicle, subject to acceptance criteria and providing your record is ok we should be able to source a "mirrored" NCB percentage for the everyday car.

Kind regards

Tony

Hi Matt,

We only do annual policies here.

However, there are a few online companies that offer short term cover day-by-day up to the maximum of a month.

Their details are as follows:

https://www2.dayinsure.com/retail/index.aspx

http://www.norwichunion.com/short-te...ce/pricing.htm

www.tempcover.com

Hope this helps
