as far as I know carple tunnel syndrome is something to do with the blood vessels in your hand.

sounds more like rsi mate.

but go see a doctor!

My mate had it - caused by years of riding motocross bikes (we called it scrambling back in those days). Had to have an op in the end, as he could pick things up properly.
