At the moment im wiring in my new gauges,

i am wiring them off the stereo cabling and have the live, earth and ignition wires all connected yet the gauges are staying permanantley lit even when the ignition isn't on.

can anyone sugest something which would explain this as im completely stumped.

ive done this before and just conected it up to the ignition wire and the earth. if you conect it to the live feed to the stereo thats why its staying on all the time

As above, you want to be using the yellow wire if you are using the stereo wiring. Just don't connect too much up on it because its not fused, you would be better finding a proper ignition feed IMO.

the power line for my Alpine stereo (yellow) is fused so it should be alright....

Ah ok then, i would recommend moving the fuse to directly by the ignition switch however, if the wire is cut anywhere before the fuse you will have a fire on your hands

Gauges loom quality nice work

safechav there is a fire extinguisher in the glove box

i have had the gauges wired up like this for 6 months or so (in the place of the heater) and it has been ok....

all the gauges are from ebay they are Autogauge smoke series.

i bought them from a trader called mod world for about £25 each but i later found them from a international seller who sells 3 for £40
