Default Arg ! What now ?! - !Update! Part Number needed

So far, when one thing goes wrong with my car other little bits start to go wrong as well.
I can't really argue as most of the bits that are faulting are the original parts and have done a fair few miles.

Anyway ...

Last week I found that the alternator went to the big electrical place in the sky, and wasnt charging the battery any more ... so I replaced that with a reconditioned unit. Great.

Now, I went to start the car about an hour ago. Disabled the imobiliser, turned the key ... wait a min, what happened to the fuel pump priming ? Ok ... turn the key, oh look car won't start.
I tried again, no sound from the fuel pump priming at all. The engine tries to turn over, but assuming the pump isnt working the car wont fire up (the lack of fuel doesnt help)

Could the fuel pump of gone to the fuel pump related place in the sky aswell ? Or could it be something else ?

---- Edit

It was the fuel pump relay. It looks like someone had attacked (had trouble) with it before, and the soler had split. The connections been resoldered, but I need to get a replacement.
I phoned LSUK for it, and they said they need the part number as their list says Ford or Vauxall (not model).
So I phoned the Ford Parts dept, and they don't know what a fuel pump relay is.

So ... does anyone know the part number ?

Ta,

Could be the relay they're pretty shit on S2's. First things first take the relay out and bridge the red wire to the black/red, the pump should run regardless of ignition because its a permenant supply. If it runs its probably the relay.

If not, its either the pump, or a fuse blown (or worst case a wiring fault but unlikely)

Is the relay near the pump ? (still learning the car really)

The car has been running fine all week (I've used it everyday). Even today it was fine all day, just went to start it up at 11ish and no go.

Will have a check when I get up.

Thanks for the reply.

Its under the drivers side of the dash by the speaker pod, can be a bit tricky. Pinky purple colour.

The relays are shit to be blunt, a bit overly rated, ive never taken one out that hasnt showed signs of overheating.

Give what i said a try and let me know how you get on

Went to start the car again, and it wouldn't fire again.

Found I didn't put the relay back in properly :S my bad.
... but I took it out anyway to get the part number, which by the looks of things is different to yours safechav.

I phoned LSUK with the part number, and they had 1 in stock and were closing in 30mins from when I phoned ... RUN !!!
My 'rents popped into Ford as they were near it, and the guy at the counter said "well, theres so many bits on these cars I dont know where to start ... do you have the part number?" er, NO ! thats what I wanted to know.

So hopefully, I know have a replacement relay, and a newly soldered one as spare.

The part number i looked up on microcat, aswell as on a spare relay i have (one of many ), in microcat its listed as a:

fuel injection relay Type K Yellow
Im not sure about the yellow bit???? They have yellow colour coding on the top so maybe thats why. But that is definately the part number. There is also a diagram of the pinouts on microcat, and relay "K" has the correct pin outs.
