Default wheel offset.....

Just bought a set of 17's for me erst...got em today and they're et37 offset. Is this offset gonna be ok??? Cos i was thinkin they were gonna be et35! Just need to know if these are gonna be ok before i fit em!

Only 2mm difference, probably be a little better as thats 2mm less they will stick out, just check they dont foul the suspension or anything.

The lower the number, the further they stick out. Not that 2mm will make any difference what so ever.

Sorry Tony but im going to have to disagree on that, the ET figure is the distance from the centre of the wheel to the mounting face. And ET figures are positive figures, so therefore a ET35 will stick out more than an ET37

Probably a result of being too low. I just put some 17's on my cabby, ET35 IIRC, the car couldnt be driven until i ground the arches out, i learned the hard way after finding all the rubber shreddings on the road after reversing about 2 metres Bit too low really

the best ofset for a mk4 is et40 any more than this and you have to do a fair bit of arch/bumper edge mods. best tire is 195/40/17 as it being narrow give you that bit extra clearance
