Mine is a standard one still, but bought it brand new when I fitted the Vibratechnics cradle mounts.

never heard about uprated wing mounts, maybe not neccecary?
i have the fast road vibra ones at my gearbox, which are indeed much sturdier though transmit also quite some vibration. Now it's for my trackday car, so no problem

Rick, you are SUCH an old woman. I have Vibratechnics mounts and a B&M shifter and the vibration from within my car is almost negligable. The pro's FAR outweigh the con's. It's now nice to have a much more positive feeling from the gearshift and less movement from the engne.

If it vibrates and rattles, it must be a car that's prone to rattles etc.

C - Piss off

Ive fittled VirbaRabbit to a mate's car, and it's shaky on idle. Not got B&M - but do want it. Along with some big ruuber bushes

Rick, please remember that these are ERST's, not Bentley's.

Also, I guess a new balanced engine is likely to cause less vibration.

You definately get MORE vibration from the B&M than you do from the Vibratechnics mounts. I just removed my entire centre console and bonded all the joins from underneath with Stikaflex and that sorted it. I haven't even rubber mounted it (I didn't want to as I was worried about taking the positivity out of the shift).

Well Mr Sticko. rubber mounts may give u 2mm of ectra movement - but in terms of play, i bet u cant tell. I'm willing to evaluate a B&M in detail if APT is willing to send me one I think i can make it work well. And as for bently... I'm a car freak, not an RS freak. Im STILL a student, so have about a penny a week to spend on cars. This means that if i want (need) to go fast, then the RST is good for me. But, i dont do rattles. They are so hommo. So i'd put money down to say my daily driver RS shitty turbo drives more like a bentlly than a Nova..... Off out now to get wasted. Love to Becky
