Officially she's being broken for parts
to go towards my next project, of which some of you know already
Sent the tax off today as the ring has done a bit of damage on the old girl, but the engine will be fighting its way thru the gearbox in something a touch different
please people - do NOT PM me asking for parts as I do not know what i will need yet

Mark - the ring took far too much out of her, and i can't bear to sell it to anyone else, also with it being a cat-D, people would be put off it
however, the new motor will be simply stunning once complete, i'm looking forward to spending many hours in the garage during the summer already

I am sure once the BMW is done it will be very good.....I used to have an E30 M3 and it was SOO much fun, maybe not the fastest of cars but you will be sorting that
Keep us posted
Are you sure you want to run 4x4 still???
That complicates the project a hell of a lot!
Although they did make a 4x4 E30 (325ix) they were rare, and i would think finding a set of front hubs/uprights from one will be hard.
If you went 2wd with a T5 the project would be as simple as some engine mounts, a prop and maybe some sump mods.
I can recommend using a company called autoprop for your prop. You could ask them to make a bmw/cossie hybrid out of your two props, but with their very reasonable prices it is usually worth gettting them to make a complete new one. Much better to have brand new UJs and joints.
My brand new 3 inch prop for my kit car only cost Ł120! Bargain.

Why on earth would you want to take one of the most sublime handling RWD cars of all time and then fucking wreck it by making it a crap 4wd car with the weight distributed too far forward (which you will HAVE to do due to the drive shafts at the front) and a chocolate ford gearbox?
See some sense man, and do what garage 19 days, do it RWD!

Anyone remember the Yellow E36 powered by a cosworth engine and using the 4x4? It was featured in Revs a good few years ago.
Was one hell of a nightmare project but it looked well and went superb.
I would think RWD would be the way forward as you can obviously handle one properly.

i paid Ł2600 in labour charges to have my e30 done, and i was supplying all the bits and i was quoted another Ł1500-Ł2000 to have it 4wd with cossie running gear.are you planning on doing the work yourself?

Fuzzy - I will be doing all the work myself and fabricating everything I need - its not the first time i've done something like this
3 years ago, i built a kitcar from a pile of box section, and had it a rolling chassis with engine and transmission fitted in 3 months
What chip says is the way forward gracie as i did say that when you told me about your idea Good luck with what ever you do mate and give me a bell if you need anything or a hand mate
Hmmm, not a fan of the idea myself. Turbo-ing an E30 M3 would be better but I'm against all this cross breading different marque engines in other marque chassis - its the automotive equivalent of a lady-boy! But what ever floats ya boat man!

Your skills are impressive mate, I'll give you that.
Just out of interest, do you prefer the looks of the E30 to the Sapphire or is it that you just fancy having a one-off car? Just wondering as they seem to be a similar size and weight, the E30 BMW and Sapphire? Or do you enjoy the building part of the project?
