That'll cost a fair bit!

Sorry I missed your call - my phone is playing silly buggers at the moment, dropping calls off etc - I've reverted back to the old one. I'll give you a buzz around 9 ish........

I don't think it will be that much, they aren't massively heavy! I would expect £10 or under.

I'd go for this sort of figure also.

I sent a 15 foot snake skin which weighed about a kilo to germany late last year and it cost £15 insured.

Can't see a master cylinder weighing more than 750g

Why is this a problem?
We buy stuff from the UK all the time.
Buyer pays for postage of course...

Or does he wants you to send it over aswell for £5?

I agree with Kev somewhere near the 25-30 quid mark!
Make sure it requires a signature the other end even if it costs more.

It's a problem because he listed that he would only post to the UK and for £5 it's a lot of messing about. Or is Germany now in the UK?

Forgot about that bit and indeed i would tell the buyer he can't have it as well for that money!
For future reference you can block bidders 'from countries you don't post to' for all items you have listed! just click the link below

seems daft to resrict your market by not posting abroad to me, especially as certain parts are rarer in other countries so could fetch a higher price.

what's the difference to you as a seller? you can quote a shipping rate in uk, and one within europe, rest of the world etc. you still package it up just the same, take it to the post office / courier company / have it collected just the same. just because you're too lazy to find out the costs beforehand? wtf? you either want to sell it or you don't, and with overseas shipping that costs more in the first place, it's very easy to add a few quid in there for the 'extra hassle'

wtf are you having a pop for? he said he did not want to send it outside the uk, it's his Prerogative after all. Personally i would NOT send it for £5!!

he's not expecting to only pay a fiver - you read the small print

i'm not having a pop at dangerous at all, just in general at the attitude of some ebayers on here.

dangerous is doing a good thing by helping him out by getting a price and sending it anyway

But why limit your sending things to just the UK in the first place???

Are we not entitled to being able to purchase some parts that we "for love of god" can not find on the mainland?

I personally purchase about everything for my Cos in the UK.

fair play to dangerous for sending it anyway but e bay is full of scammers and other dodgy types right now,so it pays to be careful. So if he lists 'will not send outside uk' what exactly do YOU think that means?

Although i posted the link to the block on Ebay i now allow people from all over the world to bid on my stuff! Its up to the seller as to who he sells to and if someone is only selling a few bits and bobs and they don't have a Paypal account or don't want one then it can get a bit complicated selling to overseas buyers especialy for a five pound item.

If i were selling i would have expected to have got an email asking if it would be ok to bid as the listing says only UK. I have had the same thing with a guy in Oz, he reckoned he did not get the 3dr arch i sent him and gave me endless grief even though i had proof of sending. It's not always the people... it's the chance it might get lost on the way... it's the sellers choice, end of!

Have to agree with you there Martin.
I ALWAYS ask if they are willing to sent it to Belgium and what cost would be.
Can't be fairer then that.

the reason i dont sell to people abroad is the fact ive done it twice once to germany and once to poland both times parcel went missing and royal mail made me send the reciept to them on both occasions and never heard a thing after that so i personally choose not to anymore if anyone has a problem with that tuff shit really

The story continues...

As said i decided to help the guy out so we to post office, had parcel weighed & priced for postage.
Result was £37 postage & gave me a shipping form to fill in when sending it.

I got back to the bloke - Told him all in P&P would be £45 As i`m still running backwards & forwards for this.

He emails back saying its more than he thought & can i give him exact weight so he can price up p&p himself.

I politley replied telling him that "with the greatest of respect" i dont have time to run around for him to make £5 (which is cheap for the item anyway)

A few days go by so i ask what his thoughts are

The reply i recevied : Hi, well I dont appreciate the high shipping costs. I could ship half an engine to England for that price. I understand you don’t want to run around for 5 pounds, but well thats how things are on ebay. I have sold many items myself for 1 euro cause of only one bidder... So if you don’t like it you should have set a higher starting bid.

But looks like there is nothing I can do, although I am sure there is a cheaper way of shipping this puppy. I will pay your invoice within the next 48 hours with paypal.

Think i`ll tell him to FUCK OFF

Am i right to do so ???

He has private feedback so impossible to see what other have said about him.

I f he gives me negative will eBay delete it as he should not have bid anyway??

Your listing quite clearly stated UK ONLY so you are perfectly within your rights to refuse his bid.

Agree entirely and I would be the same but the bellend evidently can't read and is a pisstasker. What did he expect the postage to be a first class stamp ? I'd like to see him get half an engine sent over for £35...........

Relpy sent

Please remember that I did state in my auction that I would ship to
> the UK only!
> That I completely understand the rules of eBay and implications of
> selling items at a low price.
>
> I don't like your attitude - You broke the rules of my auction
>
> Forget it - don't send any money I'm not wasting my time here.

Response

> Come on, stay calm. I won the auction and I will pay your invoice. I need the brake cylinder to get our cossie running.

Stay tuned for payment.
