Default Cosworth Clutch Cable Question

Is there any other cable available that would be a bit shorter than the standard cable to give te clutch more lift. The biting point is right at the bottom no matter which clutch I have fitted (a few have been tried)

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Dave

Sounds like your pedal racthet/quadrant is not resetting.......or may be broken. When you change the cable, or clutch the racthet/pawl should reset to a midway/upper midway pedal position.

ford only do the 4x4 clutch cable now which is a bit longer than the 2wd one so is a bit easier to fit.

At least I think its longer, either that or its shorter cant remember now but there is a diff between the two and the 2wd one is no longer available.

think about it, a longer or shorter one won't make any difference if the inner cable is the same amount longer than the outer

Adjust it manually
Jack up the front of the car
Get someone to sit in the drivers seat
Get underneath with a pry bar
Get the person in the car to depress the clutch
Wedge the bar behind the clutch arm to stop it going back
Get the person in the car to SLOWLY let the pedal up until you hear a clicking noise. Let it click about 2 or 3 times.
Check the clutch now and if the pedal is still too low repeat the above until your happy!
Don't do too much at a time or youmay over adjust it!!
