Interesting quote from Mark Hales (Circuit Driver Mag)
Thought this was an interesting comment regarding the cars he uses for his track tuition courses.
"Several people have asked about the cars we will be driving. Since this is a course in France it seems only appropriate that we should use French cars and I’m very happy to confirm that thus far Renault has been providing a pair of Meganes. Like most modern saloons, these are driven via the front wheels and while some people have raised an eyebrow about that, it is a fact that in recent years so much work has been done on dampers, suspension geometry and its mountings, that modern front-drive chassis are now very good indeed. Added to which, the latest rear-driven breed is now so festooned with tractive aids * most of which cannot be disabled completely * plus so much passive geometry change, that they usually understeer more than the front drivers as a deliberate means of isolating drivers from the challenge of oversteer."
