Default saff install??

need advice on what stereo to get

want a single 10 or 12 in a box

new speakers all round (staying 5 1/4 so they are hidden)

and amp to power the sub and one for the 4 speakers.

budget approx 500 quid, and a i already have a headunit.

this is all going in my saff 4x4 and i would like it to be loud, if possible.

my friend has a single 10 in his car, and it sounds awesome (mtx thunder, with cheap amp)

cheers for the advice guys

rory

gonna stick with a single sub to keep weight and costs down

what size are the rear speakers, i have been told with corsa fitting rings i can fit 5 1/4's in the front door without chopping the cards up.

wanna do the same with the back shelf and maybe go for single 10 to get the decent midrange and punch.

find that 10's are a bit limited for my tastes, tbh with your budget you arent going to have a problem! the fronts will take slim fit 5.25's and they sit in behind the cards with no chopping, the rear i think are 4's or 4.5 i think, go to any stereo stcokist, should have a book listing the standard sizes for speakers!

saw a nice speaker package in motor world yesterday, its around Ł180 for sub box and amp, sound nice too, that or ebay m8

motorworld have a shedload of good gear. i should know, i work for em.

U can have a JBL (good brand, good sound, good quality) for 150 quid (add 20 quid for a wiring kit)

after that, buy 2 sets of 5 1/4 inch JBL components at 55 quid each, install it and take ur time setting it up (adjust bass/treble etc)

I would advise buying dynamat if possible cos saffs are old and rattle. oh, and position your sub facing the rear seat to maximise the sound. the boot aint the best place for acoustics, and u dont get good bass from it.
