Hi,someone must be able to help,my s2 has been runnin fine the whole time ive had it but tonight i got this problem,i only drove abot 6 or 7 miles to a mates,and as i was almost there it would cut out on idle,just didnt want to tick over,so i thought it must be a air leak and found a pipe off (not sure what its called)but it connects down below the mfi inlet unit,hard pipe which goes into sumink round?well i reconnected it and thought it would be fine,started it up and ticked over again fine,i reved it from the cable while i looked at the engine and it cut out when revs died down and wont start now and feels jumpy when i turn it over?
can any1 help me on this please?

Was it just problems on idle or could it be fuel pump related do you think ?

as long as i kept the revs up it was fine,lumpy/jumpy kinda thing,not really bad but noticable?any ideas?

 

Just reads like another air leak to me, at first I was thinking fuel but if it runs ok it can't be. Have another look round

 

Sounds like an air leak to me aswell. If you have boost/vacuum gauge looking at what it does will tell you a lot.

 

since i put the pipe back on it started up fine then was ticking over for a minute then i revd it and it just died when the revs went down and wont start again atal,so im not sure what my boost gauge will read but it was under boosting befor i fixed the pipe?

 

Look for eratic vacuum readings when its idling etc
