Default Stupid question - HT leads

My HT lead broke on my scooter at the crimped end of the connector that goes onto the spark plug.

so i phoned up for a new one and as my lead has the coil unremovably connected at the other end (and parts are hard to get for my bike) they sent me an inline HT connector instead so that I can basically chop the end off another HT lead, connect this to the spark plug run a bit of lead then use the connector to connect to whats left of the original lead.

Now this inline connector is just a rubber tube with what looks like a screw comming out of each end. Do I just chopt the HT leads and push n twist the threaded screw into the middle of them both? or is there some kind of crimping required?

Sorry for such a dump question but I never seen one of these before!
