Default drink driving question.....insurance!!!!!!

...my girlfriend lost her license when she was 18 for 6 months....drink driving!!!

she is now 25 and has not driven since....... but its time for her to start again, due to choosing places for us to live together!!!

what does she need to do now to retake things?!?!?!?

AND......would if she passed her test again, etc, etc WOULD she need to declare to insurance companys that she lost her liscense 7 years ago or could she legally tell them NOTHING as it was 7 years ago as they usually ask if you have had any convictions, etc in the last 5 years or so??? would she be treated like a new driver instead?????

DD stays on your licence for 10 yrs.
If she re-takes her test she will still have to declare why she was disqualified in the first place as if ever she has to claim & she hasnt declared it her insurance will be void.
