Default intercooler debate- GRS or pro alloy

im wondering what intercooler to get for my series2 turbo. grs i know are great but ive been told they have a long waitin time and i wana get my car on the road within couple months

the pro alloy one at £405 seems good value as it has 2 fans with it aswell, and has curved edges meaning better flow maybe.

whats everyones opinions plz

mike

seems like you only have one choice to me if you want your car on the road in a hurry?

Not sure what you call long waiting times, but for GRSmotorsport i think its usually 4-5weeks from when you place the order...

Also worth remembering they are fitted on the fastest RS Turbo (Christian & Beccy's @ 168mph) and also on Tony Turbo's car which has cracked 162mph.

Thats how i'd look at it and thats not to say that the pro alloy is not a good product either..... but well established and proven products are what we're after!

if i'm honest, i doubt you'd have any problems with either, so i'd base my choice on how it looks, cost and ease of fitting

Can't make any comments on the GRS units, but what I can say is that I've been over the moon with my Pro Alloy set up. Quality is amazing, they fit perfectly without any mods or alterations, and they definately work.

You Cossie guys can't really judge the RST stuff. For a Cossie, I would definately get the Pro Alloy cooler, however, the RST one just didn't give the results. The quality is second-to-none, of that there is no doubt, but the GRS is certainly doing the business from a performance point-of-view.

Cruising temps of 4-5° above ambient, light boost see's very little rise in temps and even 2-bar of boost has not seen over 40° so far.

Graham's (GRS) wait is normally around 4-5 weeks. All his stuff is made to order, by hand.

I'm not sure what it is about the Pro Alloy cooler and I am sure that the boys will suss it out, but the Gen 1 and Gen 2 coolers just don't work as well as the GRS.
