Default Should I? Shouldnt i?

Hi guys, i am afetr a few opinions, I currently have a Fiesta Zetec S and have had it for 2 years, i fancy a change and really want an escort rs turbo for my next car. I do about 40 miles a day to my work and back and just wondering about reliability with the rst. Also not sure about going from a new car 2 a 16 year old car, the rst i have seen is very clean and will probs be paying about 3.5/4k for.

All opinions welcome

You will certainly feel the difference going from your Zetec-S to an RST in terms of reliability/economy etc.

If you get a good RST, then you will be fine, but if you don't then you will have a world of grief.

It's well worth looking at a few and not just buying the first one you come across.

Ł3500-4000 ought to buy you a nice example, but don't take it for granted.

Cheers, i am going to get a shot in the 1 i fancy soon, its ben restored and was originally a guy in wales that built it aparrently. Thinks its roughly about 180-190 bhp.

What are the main things i should look out for?

rust!

engine problems are fairly cheap and easy to fix, bodywork isnt and is a downward hill

180-190 is going to be fairly uneconomical

How uneconomical do u reckon? its motorway miles back and forward from ma work. Reliability is more of an issue with me than the petrol issue tbh mate, Looking for this to be a car to use as a daily driver.

I wouldn't do it mate. Doubt your boss is going to be very happy when you're turbing up late/not at all cause somethings gone wrong on your car.

I ran mine for a year every day with very little problems.... but in standard form. I think thats the key really, std they can be very reliable but if you start upping the power you will come across more problems.
