Default escos leather gear gaiter

has anybody seen Mr gaiter on eaby, he sells all sorts of leather gayers for virtually all cars,,,

anyway i emailed his and esked if they did a escos one...

they said no, but if i sent them my old one, they could then add it to the catalouge for future customers, and for my troubles, mine would be free

not bad that, so its in the post, should get it back middle of next week,

il post up some pics , old v new

I just took my centre console to a local trimmer and got one made exactly the same, they fitted it too (which is an absolute bitch)... Only slightly shorter to allow for the shorter throw on the shift

BTW IIRC the std item is vinyl

thats a nice job, its funny though how something so superficial is secured in the car so frigin securely, it IS a nightmare to get out/in with those metal staples holing it.

ice had anew ford one int he past and yes they are vynil and yes (as i found) liquid leather does remove the plastic coating

i've removed my staples and used 4 lengths of black velco, it also allows access then to the gear stick rurrond without havingto remove the centre console.

as was....

now:

i refitted mine using velcro though, not staples, so it is easilly removed (when - not if) the box has to come out for clutch/bearing etc. will make it a much easier job than having to remove the whole centre console

true, but as mine was for free - i cant complain

it was a bit tighter at the top originally, but ive had it on/off a few times and have snipped some of the stiching to allow this , it will have the cotton tied undernearth on the sliding part like Damos before its fitted back next time the box comes off

I'm not knocking your Dave coz mine is exactly the same mate apart from mine is cable tied around the lift bit And if it was free you cant fault that mate

I just think that the Mr Gator leather is too thin so there are too many creases in it . Damo's looks like the leather is far thicker making it look more original
