hello.....

a friend of mine has a problem with his current YB engine....it has a big crack in bore number 3...so the 205 engine (block)is exit....

he wants to buy a 200 block now....

question...is the crank, rods from the 205 usable in the 200 without problem...
what about the pistons (2wd ones)....because the current ones had done only 6000miles...are they usable in a 200 block with a 2wd head?...
what about the oilpump etc etc...

a 200 block is a direct replacement for a 205 - the internal dimensions are all the same

As above m8, all internals are a straight swap, I think the only diff between the pistons is the 4wd has the offset pin to eliminate piston slap

 

Direct swop, identical.

 

but what about the compression ratio....he wants to use 2wd pistons in a 200 block with a 2wd head.......

compression ratio same..higher..lower..or?

Oh, should have said, assuming his block hadnt been decked of course!


Measure the height from the bearing tunnel to the block face is only way of telling!


But thats the same as using another 205 block
