Default Had a close shave in the cossie!

Last week I noticed a vibration at around 60 mph, in the saff, went to my mates garage, first think he checked was the props, then he told me to balance all the wheels. I didnt have time to take them all off there, so I left it.

I had to drive 250 miles to Halifax sunday morning as my Bro's mrs was in labour. Still with the vibration. I was also carrying my mother and my G/F. I left halifax on Tuesday in a rush to get my G/F home, and tanked it, hit 150mph a couple of times. I noticed the vibration was still there if not worse.

So Yesterday I decided I would get the Balancing and tracking checked on the car for sound of mind. I took the car to my local ATS, and waited in the reception. A couple of minutes later the tyre fitter called me out.

The front drivers wheel had a huge bubble in the side wall around 3 1/2" long. The shape of the tyre was terrible. It had to be changed. On removing the tyre you could see the extent of the damage to the tyre wall.

All I could think of is, if that tyre had blown out at 150mph, I would of wiped out myself, mother, G/F, and maybe any other people unlucky enough to cross my path!!!!

One very lucky Cosworth driver.

i had a vibration aswell it was doing my head in i drove around for about 3 weeks trying to figure out what the fuck it was.any way it was doing my head in so much that i was getting to the point where i was thrashing the fuck out of the car doing high speed like 120's-130's etc.in the end i took it round to my mates garage and we balanced the wheels and the back tyre was blebbed (im not lying) the whole half of the sidwall on the inside.i couldnt believe my luck,if that had blown out i would of prob been dead.im glad you have been lucky mate

Lucky but you have to question the sense of driving that fast when there's clearly a problem with the car
