Default Question for a sparky! Out side power.

Installaing an outside device. Have a spur on the inside of shed.

IN regards to the outside cabling which will be permanent and exposed to all weather Which sort of cable do I need? Wont be going underground but will go on some cable tray and can termainate onto a transformer in an IP rated weather proof box to power an outside Wireless Access Point.

Use armoured. Make sure you get a CW gland when you make it off. A BW gland is not waterproof. You must use the earth ring to earth the steel armouring and it must be r.c.d protected at the source of where it is coming from. Any questions on this just ask mate

Armoured is the easiest and best stuff for this sort of job. Providing it is not getting stood on or driven over it will last for years, even in the elements. Does'nt need to buried either as long as it's out of the way of potential damage.
