Default erst s2 clutch cable probs

any help on this one and i'd be most grateful my local ford dealership currently have my car after the clutch cable snapped over a week ago and they cannot find a cable the same as the one they have taken off the car. When i bought the car I was told that it had had a mk 5 pedal conversion carried out which i have no reason to doubt.
Following a previous post last week i was told by a few people that the standard cable is still used with this conversion but ford just dont seem to be able to locate the correct cable.
Does anyone know of anywhere that i could maybe send the cable to and have it matched up to get the correct cable,

As far as I have been told yes, it's the standard cable. In fact I am getting the MK5 pedal parts today along with a new erst cable. I've heard about non abs cables as well. - what are they saying is the problem then?

Just get a standard RST cable and it’ll work. They’re maybe trying to match the old one up [it may be the wrong one] because they think it’s required but the standard one will do the job!

thanks for the reply, basically they have ordered what must be a total of 5 or 6 cables now, i did stipulate to them from day one that it was a standard cable that is required but they seem to think that they have had the standard cable at one point and it was either to short or to long.Gonna pick the cable up from them today anyhow and see if i can manage to sort it myself.

More than likely, to be honest you probably could of fixed it yourself faster. Dealerships are bad enough with a completely factory car let alone when you have done the simplest of mods

I can't really see any benefits of a hydraulic clutch, plus the fact they're all too common for failing when the car isn't used much. I much prefer cable clutches myself.

just picked up what was supposed to of been erst s2 clutch cable today and it still dont match up...aaarrrrggg the overall cable is the same length but the plastic circular section of the cable is located higher than what it should be....anyhow ive ordered another one from burton power today of which he sounded reasurring on the phone that it would be the right one,(fingers crossed)he also told me that ford dont supply these cables anymore! i wish my local ford dealership could of told me this, would of saved me and them a lot of hassle.
sounds really bizzare that he knows ford dont manufacture them anymore and they dont...lmao

it gets rid of the unreliable ratchet system and also makes a lighter pedal or so i am told if you have a heavy duty clutch fitted

i never actually saw the cables that ford ordered they only kept telling me that none of the cables would fit.
when i collected the old cable from ford i ordered one myself through partco motor factors and the one they gave me was still wrong
the overall length of both cables was the same but the plastic circular section of the cable on my original was a couple of inches lower than what it was on the new cable hence reason why it would not fit....
ive still got old cable and the one from partco so ill take a pic and post it so you can see what i mean

So its not a self adjusting clutch then?? Manually adjustable? And no ratchet assembly i'm guessing?

The parts JANO sells is not just 1800sierra stuff!

The components are CNC and also laser/water cut. The parts i supply have a cost of Ł45 for a reason!

The std 1800 stuff might be ok for you, but it is not for me!

OK

Rick & Safechav as you know i am not a trader on here, offering pictures and prices for my components is not fair for other traders who do pay the high fee's.

Maybe this is the reason you get flustered
