Default s2 air filters etc

currently i have a standard ford panel one, and i am going for a bit more power etc, ive heard that standard ones are the best or do i go for some sort of k&n jobbie.

Well, If I were you I would get a k & N panel and stick with the intended airbox, the filter's can just suck all the hot air in from the bay and make things worse, you can buy the heat shields for em but I have had a bolt on filter and noticed 0 difference so put my old box back on

so is it just a case of keeping std for airbox and replacing just the filter itself?

some ppl cut the front of the air box open a bit more.

not cutting the box tho as I do either want to keep it standard looking or keep the original filter to put back to standard if needbe.

im getting a standard airbox made from carbon fibre, modified to go to my head light air duct canny wait, will post pics when done

I have a K&N cone filter with a s/s heat shield and also a 'shaped' piece of 4inch cold air ducting coming from the headlight area, this seems to work pretty well.

ive had piper on for years , no probs at all, just keep it clean and oil it so no shit gets in, k/n tend to look abit bent and shabby after a while
