Default how do u adjust your gear linkage????

i have just fitted a b&m quickshift kit to my series2, when i put the linkage back on all the gears seem fine when the car is idle but when driving it is difficult to find third. All other gears are fine. I am thinking maybe i need to adjust the linkage??? any ideas???

Theres a method to set the linkage to the selector shaft but short of that there is no "adjustment" so to speak, selector on the box may be worn.

You're supposed to lock the linkage into reverse from underneath, with a thin screw driver or similar (there is a special tool i believe but i bet no-one has one). If you have a haynes have a read of that.

Default gear linkage

yeah i got sum1 to hold the gearstick in reverse when i done it. yeah i have seen that in some previous threads DAVE Y, its worrying after spending that much money. I took the car out today and the change from 2nd to third feels alot better now, hardly any difficulty. I assume coz the box is new and been sitting around for a year it just needed to loosen up. After going out in the car 2day with nothing but smooth gear changes i woz actually shocked at how good the b&m actually is. I just hope it stays like that thanks for your replies

That may of been the case, when i put the turbo lump in my cabby with a recon s1 box it was a fucking nightmare to start with, awful changes, pretty good now but the linkage has better days so im hoping the rest is that
