Default xbox 360 owners

Hi all

Can someone tell me if the power cord on the back of the 360 is the same as a PC one please? They have just been launched here and cannot be found for love nor ridiculous amounts of money. I am thinking of bringing one in from the UK but need to know availability and also this powercord issue.

Thanks in advance

Oh and are they worth it, opinions valued

Comes with a powepack mate as the plug on the back of the system is a weird one with the kettle type one plugging into the powerpack. We use the same volts here so kettle power plugs are easy to get and just switch for a local kettle plug.

£359!!

I paid £500 for it the first day it came out with PGR3, Perfect Dark Zero, Call of Duty 2 and Condemned, which by the way, condemned is the scariest fucking game i've ever played..

Call of Duty is awesome, well it was until i played GRAW.

I got ridge racer 'on the cheap', ahem! its pish i think, but alright for nearly nothing.

Get onto Live, and get your arse kicked by some saddo american who spends 24/7 on it.

My gamertag is aptly named Davie360.

this is the badboy

its HUGE and weighs a ton

Q: Why is the Xbox 360 power supply so large?

A: To ward off evil spirits. The Xbox 360 is a portal to another dimension where magic still exists and people travel by unicorn. If the enormous power brick -- if it were food, it could feed a small village for years -- is not used, consumers may encounter disastrous -- disastrously hilarious that is -- results. It is Microsoft's desire to ward off all bad manja, and avoid tricky law suits. Please worship at the altar of the brick.

Truth is, because of the need for "clean power," and because of the additional heat the power supply outputs, it made sense to make the unit separate. Makes it a pain to haul back and forth to a friend's house, but makes the main unit quieter (less fans), more compact, and cooler. Hope you can hide it with all your other TV cords...

oh and picked up GRAW today AWESOME

Badcompany & Adam Ash - thanks guys

Chris Honeywell - good theory but our plugs here are 2 pin similar to french and all moulded onto the cable with no way of opening the plug so the only option is to switch the whole cord.

They do 2 deals here with one of the big stores. One is $847 and the other is $938. There is interest free on each for 18 months. I got the $847 one which came with a game of my choice although was supposed to be PGR2, a second controller and those ugly ass face plates. The face plates were out of stock so I traded them for a 64mb memory card.

Will be sold within 18 months anyway.

Only downside I have found is how noisy it is, more like a PC fan.

Loving the wireless controllers.
