I've got Limewire, and whenever I try to open it, it freezes on the loading screen, and I have to re-open it up to ten times for it to work... But when it does work its really quick, i.e it loads for about a second and hey presto its open..

I've no idea why it does this, and I even try to help it by opening task manager, and setting its priority level to high, would this help? (it doesn't seem to!)

Anyway, here's a screen shot of my desktop, with all applications running shown in the task manager, and limewire sat there frozen.. so if any one who is good at computers is able to shed any light on why its doing this I would be very grateful...

Also, the wallpaper I have is an animated one, would this be slowing things down? Limewire was freezing before I put that up but the whole pc has been slow for a while.. I've done all adware scans etc...

You haven't got an option in your antivirus to exhasutively scan all files as they are accessed have you. I noticed your mcshield app is taking up a fair amount of cpu power.

 

CPU usage 40% mine is runing at 1%

 

try registry cleaner and defrag it too

 

stop being a tight git and buy ur music like normal people

 

1) stop using limewire

2) its likely something else thats cocking it up, not the app itself.

it'll probably be doing a pre-check or loading some DLLs and some other app hs a lock on it

almost impossible to find out whats causing the problem unless you're a PROPER geek tho

 

any particualr reason Jimbo? Not a lot to work with there

 

How about because its a crappy P2P app that is monitored almost as much as Kazaa by the authorities, full of spoofed files, and for me anyway, slow ass connections.
