Hi Phil

Chip could answer all your questions on Nitrous .
Can i suggest you sort the car out first, enter the qualifiers & see how many of your Horses are working. Hit 180 & you will know they are all their, any less & you will still need to sort that out.
With a single Fogger/ proggresive controlled system 100bhp is probably as much as you can get away with. I would personally want a 10 long stud & 'Nikasil' linered Block (ask TIB).
Go 4 fogger system & 150+ works just fine. If you want the ultimate the
'Nitrogen Push' is mental but has 2K+ bits & lots of Development time needed, im told around 300bhp is up for grabs. At these levels everything is on the limits & Piston/Crank would need to be very ,very special.

Before you consider this remember we broke uprated drive shafts within 2secs of turning on a 100shot of Nitrous on what was a circa 600bhp engine.

Only just noticed this thread while i was searching for a different nitrous thread.

Difficult for anyone to give you an answer to the "how much can i add" question as different engines stop responding to more gas for a variety of reasons, could be your exhaust restricts flow for example, or if you arent on big enough coil packs or CDi unit it might be the spark that cant cope.

In terms of cleanly burning without Det pretty much any turbo engine can take a 25% increase without any sweat at all as the cooling effect is so massive that it potentially allows HIGHER cr (or more timing) than off gas.

As Rod says though, its not down to wether the engine will cope, its wether the drivetrain will as the torque figures involved on turbo motors can get absolutely silly!
