Well its happened, the cossie 4i blow the Headgasket this morning

Don't think i have done too bad as its the first one in 9 years

It has only just gone, just a slight bit of mayo on the dipstick and in the header tank.

Will strip it on Monday and see, hope for a skim and put it back together.

Got a T38, 200 Block etc for my new engine build but that will have to wait

V6 24v power for me , at least i still have 200bhp to play with

your not the only one mate...mines gone too.........i noticed a strong smell of exhaust fumes in the header tank the other day and a bit of brown foam on top of the water but no water in the oil at all. Its not over heating or loosing loads of water so i think its on its 1st stages of going but it got worse after giving it a shit load of abuse at my local meet ....oh well,shit happens.......at least it will give me a chance to look for my oil leak

 

That engine has lasted well though Steve, can't complain really as you give it death quite a lot

steve, its a good excuse to swap the engines over

i do agree with u and mark, the white one is the better looking car, so it deserves the proper engine

plus the 24v makes for a betetr daily driver IMHO

 

If i don't sort it i will take the 24v

who wants to do my headgasket for cash coz i cant be bothered .....its too cold at the moment. The misses will supply all the bacon sandwiches you can eat,tea and beer to the winning volunteer.

 

now that sounds like a bloody good deal

beware tho .. i can think of a few members on here who would make it cheaper taking it a real garage

 

Then mine's also gone i think,made a hard launch today and i was smelling also coolant,checked,everything ok though,maybe a little bit of blisters on the coolant
