Default I've decided

there is no such thing as 88spec. It's 86 spec and 90 spec.

Thank you.

No, as few 89's had all the 90 spec features. Most 89 cars (and a lot of 90) are parts bin specials.

My own car is missing the 90 spec oval washer bottle cap, and the crossover pipe/rocker cover. It's regarded that for a car to be 90 spec, it needs the rear interior lamp.

So therefore as you say a true 90 spec funnily enough was made in 1990

there are only a few mid 80 spec s2s about now anyways,as most have been doctored with smashed 90spec shite.

mines a blood mid 80s spec driveway filler.

without an air leak. (safechav rules)

Urr, actually, the spec changed end of 88 going into 89.
All the cars got the new interior (light grey) of the 90 spec cars
A year later the front bumper and rear spoiler were changed to 90 spec (i.e. drop down rear spoiler)
So, in reality, theres 3 different, original 86
changes put in 89 model year (actually available end of 88)
And the full on monty 90 spec
Hope that helps
